Pornification of Women's image in Western Culture

Sometimes backed I watched a few TED talks (by Gail Dines, Holly Baxter, Jean Kilbourne, Ran Gavrieli) on the impact of the image of objectified women in an advertisement in the west is impacting the well-being of women ...

All of them argued that the women in the west are literally forced in the name of freedom of expression to act more like a porn star, and teenage boys (discovering and becoming addicted to porn at an age of 10-12) are also growing up learning the same, with a growing tendency to dominate, oppress, exploit, abuse, humiliate women in their lives ...

The key phenomenon is the bridging the gap between how women looks and behave in (1) Porn, (2) Advertisement, (3) in real life ... this narrowing of the gap is enabling the young males to treat women more in real life the same way ... however previously they could only imagine as girls around them in real life acted and behave very differently in the west ... According to a porn star, the girls coming to join the industry are already ''porn ready' (quoted by Gails Dines) ...

One of the biggest stakeholders who is participating in bringing the filth on to mainstream is the advertisement industry run by marketing departments of corporations run by well-qualified MBAs; who tell women through ads, if you don't behave in a certain way using our products, you ain't no good ... next equally responsible is the porn industry itself, though still not as mainstream ...

The feminist in the west sees this emerging phenomenon as a serious concern over the physical & mental health of the women in coming future, let alone their safety! ...

I hope the marketers would read this and would try not to participate in bringing such trends locally as well ... at least they would care for their own sons and daughters growing in this age ...

As a parent we need to know what our children are doing on their devices, and what they are accessing so as to avoid getting their minds corrupt ...

Let's do something to preserve our sanity and values ...
